Jovanovska: Through personal assistants for disabled people we include the unemployed people in the labor market and we help people with disabilities

In the presence of the Director of the Employment Service Agency of RM Biljana Jovanovska,  the Minister of Labor and Social Policy Mila Carovska and representatives of Red Cross, in the premises of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia, 92 certificates for personal assistants for disabled people were awarded today.

The training for personal assistants for disabled people for the first time this year is conducted in the country and is part of the measure Training for demanded occupations and crafts within the Operational Plan for active programs and measures for employment and services on the labor market for 2018.  

We congratulate the people who have successfully completed the training for personal assistants for disabled people and we believe that with this training, besides increasing the integration of the unemployed people on the labor market, we will provide a much better quality of life for people with disabilities – said the director of ESARM, Biljana Jovanovska during the awarding of certificates for personal assistants for disabled people.

The public call for expressing interest in participating in this training was announced in March, and the interest for participation of the unemployed was high and 254 unemployed people applied for the announced 100 places.

For participation in the training for personal assistants for disabled people, the candidates who have experience in working with people with disabilities and those who have completed education in the health, humanities and social science had priority in the selection. The training for personal assistants lasted for two months and was carried out by trainers from the Red Cross in 7 cities in Skopje, Kumanovo, Bitola, Gostivar, Struga, Strumica and Negotino.

Currently, a new public call has been announced for Training for personal assistants for people with disabilities which lasts until July 23th.
