Bekim Murati was born on June 19, 1980. He finished primary school in his village Bojane and secondary school at "Zef Lush Marku" in Skopje. He completed his studies in Communication Sciences at the South East European University and attends postgraduate studies in Political Science.

In 2004 he started his career as a journalist where he worked at Macedonian Radio Television - an Albanian language program and later on as an editor.

From 2006 to 2010 he also worked for the newspaper Koha and then Koha e re.

In the period from 2008-2010 he also worked in Public Relations in Agencies where he analyzed and researched public opinion on political figures, institutions and various phenomena in society.

In 2010 he left MRTV and started to work as a journalist at A1 Television where he was one of the few Albanian journalists who worked in a Macedonian language media.

In 2011 he started his political career. In the same year, he was elected candidate for mayor of the Democratic Union for Integration in the Municipality of Saraj, where he won the elections in the first round.

Seeing his vision and potential for running the municipality, DUI allowed him to run for a full mandate in the 2013 local elections, where he won again persuasively in the first round and was re-elected mayor of Saraj, a position he held with commitment and dignity until the end of his mandate in 2017.

During his mandate he did a lot for the municipality of Saraj, starting from the Municipal Building, the Flag Square with the statue of Isa Boletini and above all, the establishment and opening of a secondary school in Saraj.

In September 2019, the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia appointed him as Deputy Director of the Employment Agency.

After more than two years of successful work, the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia in December 2021 appointed Bekim Murati as Acting Director of the Employment Service Agency of the Republic of North Macedonia.

In addition to Albanian as his mother tongue, Bekim Murati also speaks Macedonian, English and French.

He is married and the father of three kids.
